All About Comic-Con Museum
J. Walcher Communications would like to introduce you to our client: Comic-Con Museum. In case you’ve been living under a rock, Comic-Con 2024 officially begins tomorrow. So, what better time to learn (and visit!) its official museum?
A comic museum? Yes, and… Dusty artifacts beware! Comic-Con Museum is much more than a museum. It’s an interactive space to celebrate comics and pop culture, engaging art and educational experiences.
And guess what? It’s good for the economy. In November 2021, Comic-Con Museum opened to the public and brought in 125,000 visitors to its hallways of superheroes, aliens and sci-fi tech.
The museum is designed to capitalize on the popularity of the high-grossing convention to support the local San Diego economy, year-round. It’s crazy to think that Comic-Con just started out as a meeting of 300 San Diegans and now brings in over $140 million annually.
Play to learn! Comic-Con Museum encourages all of its visitors to immerse themselves in the educational exhibits and learn through playing and creating. The museum strives to become a recognized leader in nontraditional education through exhibits like POPnology and Becoming Betty Boop.
Please let this be a normal field trip. At CCM? No way! Comic-Con Museum’s Education Center delivers the magic of Comic-Con straight to visiting students.
In the two makerspaces, students can game on high-performance computers at the Cox Innovation Lab or design their own cosplay at The Conrad Prebys Foundation Art Studio. The possibilities are limitless in spaces designed to house the newest creative technology and unlock imagination.
Become a superhero! Volunteers are welcome and encouraged at the Museum year-round. A perfect experience for high school and college-age individuals or any fan, Comic-Con Museum volunteers will receive learning opportunities in public speaking, pop culture, youth education and interpersonal communication in a fun environment.
Support the arts! Becoming a museum member comes with perks like unlimited free admission for a year, member-only exhibit previews and discounts on classes and merchandise. Visit www.comic-con.org/museum/join for more information!
