Bazaar del Mundo Shops and Restaurant Group
The Bazaar del Mundo Shops and Restaurants have been San Diego’s favorite destinations for food, folk art and fun for more than 50 years. J. Walcher Communications has worked with Diane Powers’ Bazaar de Mundo empire for 24 years.
JWC has divided its time working with Powers’ retail stores in Old Town and four Mexican restaurants scattered throughout the county. The agency is responsible for media relations, community relations and marketing/advertising consulting. This includes promoting and coordinating media coverage for annual events, such as its Latin American Market.
The August 2025 event transformed the Bazaar del Mundo Shops’ courtyard into a vibrant marketplace overflowing with genuine folk art, handwoven textiles, stunning jewelry and meticulously crafted ceramic and clay pottery. Guests shopped and enjoyed live demonstrations by world-renowned artists from Mexico and Latin America. JWC secured 30 media mentions across print, TV and digital platforms.
